“Banana Cream Pie”


My friend Jeanne-Marie, who lives in France, calls this her “banana cream pie” (she is proud to have learned the recipe during a vist to San Francisco). She first served the “pie” to me for breakfast. As I teased her by wondering if this was a 50 percent solution portion, she smiled and brought out a tray that held fresh coffee, along with the most luscious croissant. Compensation anyone? This truly yummy breakfast is one I plan to serve back in New York.


1/2 cup plain yogurt
1/2 banana, thinly sliced
1 teaspoon wheat germ
Drizzle of honey

Yield: 1 serving


Mix the yogurt, banana and wheat germ. Drizzle with honey.
