After a long day of fascinating speakers at the Education Without Borders World Forum, the gala dinner took place in Abu Dhabi at the Emirates Palace. The show was spectacular, to put it mildly: groups from China to Vietnam to Argentina to Great Britain and much more, all top artists, performed with a high tech background and fireworks. The dinner served along the mile-long beach for 1600 (the 1200 students and 200 adults selected from all over the world, as well as local vips hosted by Sheikh Nayan) left me speechless: Christofle silverware and Bernadaud Limoges dishes for an elaborate meal of oriental delicacies. Amazing evening or, as one English guest put it, “utterly unrestrained.” And I thought Versailles 09.09.1999 could not be beaten!
