Working in Sweden

Hello everybody! I come from HK. Recently, there is a chance for my husband to work in Sweden. Being a wife, I'm willing to go with him. But, for sure, I will have lots of uncertainity for my future which made me feel "unsafe". e.g. job opportunity in Sweden, the new living environment ...etc. Can anyone give me some suggestions or share your valuable experience with me regarding to the situation "quit my job to go to a new country!" Thanks!

Hello Queenie

Welcome to the community. It sounds like you have an adventure in front of you.I certainly understand your trepidation.By HK I presume you mean Hong Kong.Sweden will be very different! My only experience has been moving from Canada to the USA to work. And although the language and culture have similar roots,it was an adjustment. In fact I am back in Canada. But what I can and do suggest is that you find a social network as quickly as possible, through a religious affiliation or an interest or a hobby you enjoy. That is a personal choice.Of course learning the language is important.I have no idea what the job situation is there. What is your career? Please keep in touch.Let us know how it is going.Good luck!!!Jean
