What are you wearing today?
Hi All,One of my favorite threads from the old website was "What are you wearing today?" It helped me remember not to just grab the jeans, sweatshirts and sneakers that I always wear, and to boost my style, even when I was just going to be around the house. In other words... to dress like a French woman everyday. With style and a little bit of thought. :)
I am notorious for sloppy dressing, etc. but when I would read others' postings on their outfits, I would put down the sweats and dress up a bit, knowing that somewhere other French women were going that extra step too.
So in the spirit of FWDGF, here is what I am wearing today... Black skinny leg pants, deep teal T, black cardigan, and black boots, black Guess purse, scarf with lavenders and grays, and a small jade heart necklace on a silver chain.
Cheers,
Deb

Light Blue...
Today I wanted some sky on me. So I put on a light blue button down shirt, black skinny trousers, bright red ballerina flats and my brand new red Longchamp PVC "Pliage" tote bag (the bigger size, with long handles). On my hands I'm wearing my latest obsession: crocheted bracelets by Cruciani (http://www.cruciani-bracelet.net/) and also my brand new Do-Brazil braided bracelets in bright red, yellow and deep blue (check them out here: http://aureliebidermann.com/estore/#/en/favourites//0/ ). But I didn't stop there: I 'm also wearing a brand new bracelet loops (http://shop.mango.com/US/m/mango/accessories/jewellery/bracelets/?m=jewe... it's the first one that appears, but in gold colour). I've been feeling VERY maximalistic bracelet-wise lately!Vintage1944

Casual again
Casual seems the story of my life since I retired. Today I spent with friends so white jeans, navy cashmere sweater, tan bag and ballet flats, navy shaded scarf, minimal jewellery and makeup, sun glasses.Kimberly

I am afraid I have let you down....
I have committed two major faux pas today. I first did a workout (so not French) for about 45 minutes. Then I showered and am relaxing indoors today in some white capri pants and a basic green t-shirt. I am preparing my lunch and being casual.Marilyn

Kim
Stop it you haven't let us down. Excercise is fundamental to our lives and we take it how and where we can. Also dress to suit your lifestyle, you won't want to wear your best LBD to work in the garden or sit to read a book. If you visit some of the blogs written by ladies living in France you will see from their photographs that they are not dressed 'up to the nines' (as we say over here) to do the daily tasks and I'm sure Jenny will confirm this. I spent a few days 5 or 6 years ago staying with a couple who lived on the outskirts of Paris and I can assure you the lady of the house(apartement) changed out of her work clothes/going out clothes into something more casual when she got home. Your white capris and T sound just right for your lifestyle and climate. For me it's jeans and a sweater inside the house or casual linen trousers and a T. Casual attire can look attractive with a little thought by adding a belt or a scarf.Jenny la Guerla...

Great answer, Marilyn!
I couldn't agree more, and as for you Kimberly, stop putting yourself down!!! As I said earlier, your outfit must have looked spectacular with your pretty dark hair, and in any case all the French chic in the world is wasted on a body that isn't toned. I should know - I have an ongoing battle against my 61-year-old underarm flab, so now that Summer's coming my fake shoulder isn't the only reason you'll find me tugging on a rubber band for all I'm worth, oh yes, and using a child's skipping rope rigged up on a coat-hook on the bathroom door for my pulley exercises. I've even got band and skipping rope packed in my w'end bag. They'll be going to Paris with me tomorrow! Good on yer for taking care of your body!! Night-night both of you. (Got to catch an early train in just eight hours time!) Jenny, xxVintage1944

Underarm flab
Oh my ...where ever did it come from?I woke up one morning and there they were wings..there is enough flab to let me fly across the Atlantic!!But you are brave to carry on after such serious surgery.Well done.In the meantime, that green light you see is me glowing with envy....Paris for a weekend.Enjoy every moment.oxoJenny la Guerla...

.....No you haven't!
Confession? I worked out too, though out of sheer necessity. I had a shoulder replacement back in January, and am struggling to get full mobility back. AND, if you are as pretty as your photo suggests, then your capri pants and t-shirt must have looked great! 'Night. Sleep well! Jenny xbren67

From my basics
Today I'm wearing a black and ecru Breton top (long sleeved, and fairly fitting), over a pair of black crêpe palazzo pants, and some black patent leather ballet flats. A classic Omega watch, and a spritz of my signature Après l'Ondée. Oh yes, and a large pair of black Jackie O sunglasses cos I was out in the garden before lunch, and needed them, but now they're pushed up Alice-band fashion in my hair. Very simple, and hardly creative French chic is it?, but then I'm not going out today either. So voilà - très décontracté.Marilyn

Simple basics for me also
Navy jeans style trousers, a navy and ecru striped spring sweater, tan leather ballet flat and tan bag, navy scarf. Luckily the sun came out a little so I aired my sunglasses as well. Dashing here and there visiting friends.Jenny la Guerla...

Just casual.....
I am wearing my little brown knit sundress and an off white thin crocheted long vest. Nothing too fancy as I am at home today. I'm thinking about baking some carrot cake muffins. If they turn out yummy I may post the recipe on the second part of my blog today.Kelly11
