What are everyone's favorite ways to relax and de-stress?

Mine are taking a walk; reading a magazine or book while having a big glass of water to sip; listening to music; and pampering myself with a face mask.

Thanks Elka for the tip

I like to relax and destress by sitting either in our sunroom with door open or on deck or porch...listening to the birds and looking into the woods. Somehow nature pulls me back down to the ground and out of the clouds of stress.

I just love a great massage

There is nothing better than a great massage with organic Argan oil. This oil is used in Morocco by women for their hair, their body, etc. I just love it. I buy mine at Autrepart Nature in Chicago. You can find them on Facebook.

So last night

I was making herbal potions and goodies for the women going to NY, so I can be with them in spirit. I had so much fun! I probably should have kept it a surprise...but since you asked how I de-stressed, last night was very fun and relaxing and I was with you all in spirit! Jas

Good ol olive oil...

I think i was the one who mentioned this,,,i use just a few drops of it in my bath,it helps my dry skin so much,i also use it to take off makeup too,and it has no smell to bother me while i sleep...extra virgin olive oil light,is what i use..i get mine at my Sams club, big large bottle of it cost only 10.00, and the use i get from it is well worth it! Hope this helps.. Bren

Weekend plans to relax by

I am excited about having my weekend off work, every other weekend- makes them special to me. I have Downton Abbey to watch, and the lark rise trilogy to read. Of course lots of knitting time in the mornings. Everything else will get done around my R&R. Oh, and there is a great football game on, too.

For those of you who like Downton

you might also like 'Upstairs Downstairs' - the original 70's version and perhaps also the new series which is set in the 20's.

OK.... I'll battle the all-over spamming of the new blog! LOL

My favorite way to de-stress and relax today was: hop on the stationary bike after work while watching reruns of Downton Abbey, in preparation for the beginning of Season 2 on Sunday night! Laying stretched out in front of the fireplace, reading "Catching Fire," a sequel to the young adult action book "Hunger Games" and being sandwiched between my two adorable dogs. Getting ready to take a bubble bath and shed the effects of a fairly stressful work week, determined NOT to carry it over into my weekend and family time.

Blogging

My favourite way to relax is by blogging: http://mademoiselleslimalicious.blogspot.com/ Mademoiselle Slimalicious blog is all about healthy eating and fitness. It is NOT about dieting but focus instead on eating for pleasure and making the right choices. I'm passionate about the French paradox and promote the Mediterranean diet in general.

Relaxing on a cold winters night...

For me would be a relaxing hot bubble bath with lavender oils, then a message, that husband gives me,then a hot cup of lemon tea, after that,as i lay in my warm bed listening to the sounds of the sea rushing to shore,on my relaxation disc! Heaven!

Edith Piaf

My favorite way to relax is to light vanilla candles and pour myself a glass of red wine. Then I go to the Pandora website to a radio station I created called Edith Piaf. Not only is it songs by her, but other french artists as well and some American "crooners" similar to her, such as Billie Holiday and Rosemary Clooney...sometimes Nora Jones. Then I'll listen as I do one of my many face gadgety things. Very soothing!

Great Pandora suggestion!

You reminded me that I haven't listened to Pandora in a while. I love the exposure to different artists that I haven't heard before.

My best way to relax can be either physical or restful, depending on how tired I am. I find a long, meandering, off-trail walk with my dogs extremely relaxing and mind-clearing. But if I'm tired/cold/out of sorts, there's nothing better than stretching out on my sofa under a cozy blanket with a magazine or good book. If it leads to a nap, so be it. :-)

I just bought

I just bought a massage table for my boyfriend's birthday. I'm excited...it was a sort of big purchase but it just felt so right...I know he will love it, and the pleasure that comes from it will be a really good thing.

Been having a hard time

Been having a hard time relaxing and de-stressing lately, and I feel so unbalanced, because work is occupying every space in my brain. My boss just pointed out to me that I haven't taken a proper vacation since March. I had no idea! I let my job become so all-comsuming that I've forgotten that there is life outside of it. So, I immediately scheduled a week's vacation. I'm going to an ashram for a week of yoga and meditation! I love yoga, and I've practiced meditation, but I've never done anything like this before, but I'm so looking forward to peace, tranquility, nature, vegetarian food, yoga, and a chance to balance myself again. I can't wait.

yes finally

Hi Marilyn, Yes, finally (maybe, hopefull, Ithink...obviously not yet secure) there is a wonderful man in my life. Time will tell, and yet what I notice is that the process by which we connect, relate, work through things this is good. There is simple honoring and respect as well as many common loves. Jas

A nice long leisurely walk. Especially in the Fall. There is something special about an early morning walk in October that sets my soul free.

Pajama Day

I have a Pajama Day to de-stress. It is a day where I take a long hot bath and soak with essential oils. Then I get into clean pajamas, make breakfast, and move slowly through my day. I don't take phone calls or leave the house. I might watch a movie, knit, read, peruse the internet. The day is all mine. Sigh. It's lovely. Sherie
