My new

website... Ok, everyone, this is scarey for me to be posting this. I would love your feedback though and to share more of me with you. Here's the thing, keep in mind this is new, we are still correcting typos and other things. AND I REALLY WANT YOUR HONEST FEEDBACK. I know I still need a picture on, and hopefully I'll get that on soon. Some sections aren't done yet...www.jasminesgardens.com

feedback

how is this for feedback? As I wrote here a few days ago after looking at your gorgeous work, I decided that my yard really needs a facelift. So, 2 days ago we hired a landscaper/gardening expert to come in and redo our yards. I wish I had the talent myself to do it or even better, that u lived near us. But what I did do was pull up your website and show him your beautiful gardens to give him the idea of what I want. How does the old saying go, copying is the sincerest form of flattery? Something like that. Annyway without your talent and website I would not be able to have the gardens that my soul truly longs for. Thank you Jasmine. Annii

Anni

This is beautiful and makes me so happy. Thank you. I also have to add in a dream... a wish, a thought... (I don't know what to call it) You see, I believe that by spending money on things that nurture the earth, ourselves, and beauty is so important. I believe that we are creating a new economy where people can have jobs that nurture their souls as they nurture the earth and each other. So many jobs are so painful for people to work. Yet each of us chooses where and how we spend money, so hiring gardeners/landscapers is a wonderful way of contributing not only to your own household you are contributing in a very big way to the world. You are part of creating a healthy economy and a healthy earth. (Does this make sense? I'm afraid I'm not articulating my thoughts and feelings very well)

I totally understand what you are saying about nurturing the earth and ourselves. I have never thought of it that way before but I love it. Most people that I know don't get the same feeling or thrill that I get from nature. I love to just sit and watch and look at all of the beautiful bounty God has provided for us. There is nothing more beautiful or as interesting as nature. I am going to ponder on your thoughts today, thank you for sharing. Annii

Feeding the Soul Jas/Annii

girls you both gave me good thoughts. Annii because I also (as I think we all did.)...loved Jas' page and wished we could have her here, but never thought of hiring someone and showing them Jas' space. and Jas for your beautiful soul satisfying way of thinking...you truly live from your center. As you can see in my day outdoors yesterday(under Daily Pleasures) that creation truly fed me yesterday and when our souls are fed our battles with food dont exist. Its when we get "off center" that we malfunction. ;) hugs Kathy

Wow, that is so true

Kathy, That is so true! When our souls are fed the battles with food don't exist. It reminds me of a book I wrote years ago (it came close to being published, but didn't quite make it) It was called Feeding the Spirit. And it is exactly what you say, when we feed our souls, in simple everyday ways, we don't have the need to overfeed ourselves with food. The moon, the sun, the plants, the rocks, the waters...all feed the soul.

thank you

Thank you everyone. I can't tell you how much your support means to me. I think self publishing the book(s) is a good way to go. I also want you to know if you are interested. I can do consultations by phone/internet. I am hesitant to write this, as I don't want to be pushy or "sell" anything in any way. I mention it to be helpful and of service to people and the planet. Soul

To me our souls are the essence of being human. We must nurture and protect our souls. There are exchanges here that capture my rapt attention and this is one such.In the hurly burly of my current life,I had neglected mine,a little.I have been examining what will feed my soul.Becoming more in touch with nature is high on the list.I am a city girl, yet when I look around there is nature everywhere. And I have the great good fortune to have a garden to care for.Have to do some grunt work to create the beauty. It is worth it.Music is something else that I crave and I will increase its presence in my life.Thank you Kathy.I wish you the best,as well.OXO

Soul

Good discussion Jean...."what do we do to feed our soul?" For me my morning ritual of prayer, inspirational reading and quiet along with my daily exercise keeps me centered and in balance. If you can imagine a circular bubble balance where that little bubble sits right in the middle of the circle? Well that is me in my happy place.....when I am inside my self and not ahead or behind my self. When I eat without pleasure or act out by eating.. my bubble strays outside the circle. Besides my morning ritual feeding my soul trees are the breath of god for me...to sit among the trees grounds me like they are...with deep roots. Really nature of any kind for me is the word of god that was here before the written word was recorded. Also words feed my soul...simple words. Hugs for now Jean. Kathy

feeding my soul

Ladies,we are all on the same page here I think or should I say perhaps same "plane of thought?" We are all feeling the connection of our soul through the earth, the presence of the new spring growth, the beautiful music provided by the birds. I have also had another form of awakening. Normally I will dash off to a medical doctor when I feel something wrong with me. I will take the prescribed meds aand voila! all better. Lately I can't seem to stop thinking about holistic interventions instead, and I don't know why, it's just always therre in the back or front of my mind. My feet and hands have really been aching and giving me some pain lately {i am only 50 years of age so I don't think it is a growing older type of thing}. My mind pictures toxins built up in my joints and muscle tissues that need to be released. I picture myself needing a good cleanse from the inside out {I have never done a de-tox before or a cleanse} but this is what my body is telling me I need. So I put a call in to a place today to schedule something like this and I guess I will take it from there. Do any of you ladies know what I am talking about? Thanks, Annii

jas

POSTED: Tue, 04/10/2012 - 10:28am

Anni, yes yes yes!

Anni, I know exactly what you are talking about and you have got it right!!!! the aching in your joints is a need to detox. There are many ways to detox...often getting rid of dairy will help joints tremendously. (remember the dairy of today in the US is NOT what dairy used to be like). I do detoxes all the time.

de-tox

Jas, what kind do you do? Has anyone done the lemon juice and olive oil detox mentioned in Mireille's site about lemon benfits? I am scheduled for massage and reflexology tomorrow. Annii

Anni

I haven't done the lemon juice and olive oil. I do many different types depending on what I feel is needed, the season of the year, and how much rest time I have. If you have never done a detox before I would go easy on the first several (lemon juice and olive oil isn't easy). Try just liquids first. I like warm celery soup, I like spinach and banana smoothies as a liquid detox. I also like fresh juice fasts too. I've done a water then beet juice detox that was intense but very good. I've done detoxes for one day, and I did one 3 week one and everywhere in between.

If you go into the heading Well-Being on the blue strip at the top of the page you will find Mireille's ideas and comments on detoxing. It may help you. Take care.

It was my pleasure. There are quite a few gems of wisdom to be found in the 'blue strip'. I try to check it out every month to remind myself of the 'basics' without reading the whole book again.

Her website inspires me,also.I rent .My landlords have invited us to garden and we did a little last year.It was a hectic summer and I am a novice. This year I will do more guided by Jas.AsI live in a cold zone,I will need her assistance in choosing the right plants.

Your garden will be beautiful. Please enjoy every moment in it.OXO

Beautiful Jas

She will I am sure be highly complimented, Anni. We all wish she lived near us for advice and guidance. She is a very special lady. I also live in a cold zone though last week was beautiful, this week not so. We have snow and cold winds again!! My poor plants are looking very sad. I hope the sun shines again soon to make them happy.

POSTED: Thu, 04/05/2012 - 9:09am

thank you Jean and Marilyn

for commenting about the gardens. I am very excited about this project. I am sure you read Jas's comments about nurturing the earth and beauty. What a beautiful picture that paints, the world so much needs beauty and nurturing. Just as we as women, wives, mothers give and give and have pieces of our soul stolen from us, so does our beautiful earth. And without us as women finally saying enough is enough, and we have to go about establishing boundaries in our life to protect and nourish oursselves, the same can be said for our earth. So I am really looking forward to nurturing my little piece of beauty {my yard} with this new thought in mind. And I hope to nourish my own soul while nurturing my garden! {obviously I have boundary issues in my life, oh well one thing at a time} Annii

Beautifully said

Your thoughts touched my soul. What you think and feel is right and we all need to act on that belief.Women are the true stewards of the earth and we have to step up.I believe limits/boundaries are an issue most women grapple with.We can help each other here and the women we encounter throughout our lives.OXO
