The feminine self and work
I still really like this title and it is time to revisit. I am continuing to pray and open to what it is to stay female, need to earn a living, and yet find contentment, and satisfaction in work. What is it to be secure financially and with work and yet do it in a way that is simple, flowing where I feel contentment?

I just saw your website. I love it. I wish I were closer so I could participate in some of the classes you offer. I can relate to some of the things you cover. I am interested in vegetable gardening and will be freezing and canning some of them. I would be interested in organic bug repellant for my plants. I hate spraying them with those harsh chemicals. That's my biggest challenge so far.

Breathing easier
It's been an intense, hard "season opening" for me. My business life is just now beginning to get stable. I'm not even sure the words I want and need to say here, and yet I really needed to connect to you all. I had a new opening this week, at a local major resort...I did a presentation about wild plants (weeds). Long story short the way I work is all about the whole, how we work with land, what the plants have to offer, and especially the nutritional value of ordinary weeds. I make some really neat dishes out of weeds. Anyway, long story short, the owner, the chef and everyone who came to the presentation and ate the food loved it. I don't know if this makes sense, but it makes me feel hope for the world. This is the "normal people" crowd, high end normal, but normal. (I fit in the definitely as always been perceived as odd or a hippie, or an earth person...or perhaps less flattering things have been said). That people are beginning to see the value in nature, to understand that it is not exploiting nature but having a relationship with nature that matters...Anyway, I feel hopeful.

It's nice to be appreciated...
I am glad you had a positive response from your audience. I think the world as a whole is becoming more conscious of the earth and our relationship to it. I think they are realizing that what they consume has more of an effect on their bodies than they think. I cannot proclaim to be vegetarian, but I do eat in a more conscious way and do buy more organic foods. I would love for you to share some of your recipes with us.

Being conscious is what matters most. Change can happen on its own if we just have that relationship that you were speaking of. The tricky part about my recipes is that I use a lot of wild plants, what people would call weeds...they are the highest in life force. They still have their innate wisdom. So knowing how to identify wild plants is really important...the recipes wouldn't mean as much without being able to identify. I may try though soon to do something where I can share more. Thank you for your encouragement. Will you share more pictures soon of your lovely garden and farm and your work there? I still remember the sweetness of your blog and the pictures, and especially those roses and your cow. It all just touched me so deeply.

how is this for feedback? As I wrote here a few days ago after looking at your gorgeous work, I decided that my yard really needs a facelift. So, 2 days ago we hired a landscaper/gardening expert to come in and redo our yards. I wish I had the talent myself to do it or even better, that u lived near us. But what I did do was pull up your website and show him your beautiful gardens to give him the idea of what I want. How does the old saying go, copying is the sincerest form of flattery? Something like that. Annyway without your talent and website I would not be able to have the gardens that my soul truly longs for. Thank you Jasmine. Annii

This is beautiful and makes me so happy. Thank you. I also have to add in a dream... a wish, a thought... (I don't know what to call it) You see, I believe that by spending money on things that nurture the earth, ourselves, and beauty is so important. I believe that we are creating a new economy where people can have jobs that nurture their souls as they nurture the earth and each other. So many jobs are so painful for people to work. Yet each of us chooses where and how we spend money, so hiring gardeners/landscapers is a wonderful way of contributing not only to your own household you are contributing in a very big way to the world. You are part of creating a healthy economy and a healthy earth. (Does this make sense? I'm afraid I'm not articulating my thoughts and feelings very well)

Most people that I know don't get the same feeling or thrill that I get from nature. I love to just sit and watch and look at all of the beautiful bounty God has provided for us. Wow, that is so true
Kathy, That is so true! When our souls are fed the battles with food don't exist. It reminds me of a book I wrote years ago (it came close to being published, but didn't quite make it) It was called Feeding the Spirit. And it is exactly what you say, when we feed our souls, in simple everyday ways, we don't have the need to overfeed ourselves with food. The moon, the sun, the plants, the rocks, the waters...all feed the soul.

Soul
Good discussion Jean...."what do we do to feed our soul?"
For me my morning ritual of prayer, inspirational reading and quiet along with my daily exercise keeps me centered and in balance. If you can imagine a circular bubble balance where that little bubble sits right in the middle of the circle? Well that is me in my happy place.....when I am inside my self and not ahead or behind my self. When I eat without pleasure or act out by eating.. my bubble strays outside the circle. Besides my morning ritual feeding my soul trees are the breath of god for me...to sit among the trees grounds me like they are...with deep roots. Really nature of any kind for me is the word of god that was here before the written word was recorded. Also words feed my soul...simple words.
Hugs for now Jean.

Ladies,we are all on the same page here I think or should I say perhaps same "plane of thought?" We are all feeling the connection of our soul through the earth, the presence of the new spring growth, the beautiful music provided by the birds. I have also had another form of awakening. Normally I will dash off to a medical doctor when I feel something wrong with me. I will take the prescribed meds aand voila! all better. Lately I can't seem to stop thinking about holistic interventions instead, and I don't know why, it's just always therre in the back or front of my mind. My feet and hands have really been aching and giving me some pain lately {i am only 50 years of age so I don't think it is a growing older type of thing}. My mind pictures toxins built up in my joints and muscle tissues that need to be released. I picture myself needing a good cleanse from the inside out {I have never done a de-tox before or a cleanse} but this is what my body is telling me I need. So I put a call in to a place today to schedule something like this and I guess I will take it from there. Do any of you ladies know what I am talking about? Thanks, Annii
