Satisfaction....
That is the word that comes to mind for me today. As I have mentioned before, I left a job field I had been involved in for almost a decade last year around August. I was very nervous at where this decision might lead. Would I make it, would I have to go back and beg for my job. I had no idea. Well here it is a new year and I am at a point where I can say I am satisfied with my circumstances. I work from home doing customer service and I can schedule whenever I want. That is good. But my other "job" was just started last month. For some time I had been wanting to open a both at a local shop. I had no real plan except I wanted to have furniture and home decor, etc (dishes, lamps, linens, decorative furniture). My mother and I decided to get into this together. She was hesitant but agreed. She said "We can try this for a couple of month and if we cannot cover our rent then we will give it up" I was a litte more optimistic. My friend had been doing this for a while shortly after she left her long term career to care for her autistic son. We are both very similar in that we can look at something and see it's potential. So anytime I am our or my mother is out, we keep an eye out for our new "find". We are not yet at the end of the month but we will have made our rent and then some. It was also the same story for January, which was our first month. We have been testing the waters and it is paying off. We have not invested a lot at this point because we wanted to make sure this would work. These two months are what would be considered "slow" times of the year. My friend had mentioned to me that she was afraid for us to begin in January because of the time of year. Well we are happy to say we are considering it a success. Now we are setting our goals higher and are wanting to invest a little more to make more profit. To top it off I get to express myself creatively by repurposing and refinishing furniture and more. I have always longed to do something creative and now I can.
