Our very own book exchange
Mes Amies; It has been on my mind for awhile, that we should set up our own book exchange. We all appear to be readers and share many interests.Beth and I have exchanged items(Beth where are you ?I miss you)and NYa_Nya and I are exchanging books now. There is Book Mooch online and I say we can do the same thing.Even share DVDs/CDs and books. All it will cost is postage and the pain of giving up a book.We could even make it a type of Lending Library and move books on once done with them. What do you think? A lovely idea
Jean this is a lovely idea - I do have some duplicate books in my collection. Eventually, I may get round to sorting them out and listing them! A great place for any of you to buy cheap books is your local charity shop (eBay is also a good source). I bought a brand new / unread copy of 'Almost French' by Sarah Turnbull for £2.00 the other day - list price £7.99!Marilyn

A good idea
This sounds a good idea Jean. I will go through my books and list any that I feel might interest my francophile friends. I will have to check the cost of sending books across to you with our local post office and vice versa.Vintage1944

Thanks for your responses.I will shortly post a list of books I have availabe.Would it be agreeable that if two or more people want the same book that once the first one to ask is finished,it be sent on to the next in line?Nya_Nya

Yes, please!
What a wonderful idea! I have to start making a list - I doubt any of you are interested in books about hardcore geography, and as it happens those are the most numerous in my personal library (I study geography) :)frenchy

Middle grades
I teach 13, 14 and 15 year olds. If they are easy to get facts from it doesn't matter what level. This would be great. Thank you so much. DeborahNya_Nya

Frenchy, I'm sorry,
but I don't think I have anything you can use. There are some books on medical geography, whaling (scientific studies, though, not something you can use, probably), a general encyclopaedia of physical geography for university students and a lot of books on regional planning.Nya_Nya

Hm...
I'll check again, but I doubt I'll find anything. You must understand that most geography books I own that are in English are for University level and not reader-friendly at all. The others are in Slovene, or Italian, so of no use to you, I suspect. I'll check and let you know, however.ncmntngrl

Hello Soul Sister!
I love this idea it's fantastic! Count me in. I am sooooo sorry I have been absent. My schedule has become rather demanding of time and now I am about to add work to the mix on Aug.12th. My classes are going well, there is just so much work...part of the college territory. Seminars are really good but one is on Monday night from 10pm-11pm. Where do they come up with this schedule I ask you!? Can you send me your address again please? I have a box ready for you and can't find where I put the darn thing. I'm sorry. If I only had a brain...LOL!
