Newby
Hello Everyone!
I am new to FWDGF. Just began my three week food logging today. I feel like Alice in Wonderland...a bit lost and trying to find my direction. I have to mention that I found this delightful French cheese shop in our little southern town and purchased some of the offerings. I have never tasted such decadent cheese in all of my life. I am looking forward to support from all of you.

Hello Dear French Sisters
Once again welcome Mo. I found a book you may enjoy A Women's Guide to finding Her Inner French Girl by Debra Ollivier. Lots of ideas from books to read and movies.I turned 50 this year and am so happy to find a lifestyle that embraces womn of a certain age!!Sheri

Welcome, Mo
I started reading your post simply because the subject was "Newby" (it happens to have been my mother's maiden name). Ladies, you have inspired me to begin again. I am entering my 40's this year and want to begin it with a healthy (vs diet or eat when not hungry) mindset toward food, as well as begin it with a slimmer body for making the change. Thank you for the inspiration!Vintage1944

How delightful! We were born the same year! My birthday is on the 7th of September; when is yours? I had been feeling very sorry for myself since I turned 65; that is, until I read French Women. I am now nurturing a complete happiness and acceptance of my age and feeling much better for it. Since I am still very new, I am working on the attitude. I have always put everyone else first and now I feel so guilty taking care of "me". I am doing (or not doing) things because I want to...not to meet someone else's expectations. This site is so fantastic! Mo (short for "mom")Vintage1944

Holy Cow!!
I was born Sept.13.If you say you were born in Newfoundland I'll faint. This whole issue of caring for yourself is part of my struggle too.I feel it is our generation,as well as being a woman.FWDGF is a true blessing.65 is great because we can pause, think, recast, not only food, but our whole approach to our lives. We have learned so much and can learn much more.Love that!!Delighted to have you with us.As Marilyn has said we can support each other in this latest phase of our lives.I actually recently changed my sign on name to Vintage 1944 because I wanted to celebrate where and who I am.My name is Jean.Be well!!Mo

I DON'T BELIEVE IT!!
we actually have the same birth month and have the same struggles! But I wasn't born in Newfoundland, more like northern Indiana. I am so happy to have found this sight...so many wonderful caring people. My name is Shirley but everyone calls me Shirl. Stay cool.Marilyn

3 of us
I'm not vintage '44 but nearly at vintage '47. We can support each other in our acceptance of our age and happiness. The french attitude to the more mature woman is so much kinder than that in Britain. They are admired for their grace and elegance. The most well dressed ladies I saw in the French cities this summer were the 50+ age group. Elegant but not either under or over dressed. Definately bien dans sa peau and having BCBG.Vintage1944
