Meal Plans

Oh no, where are the fun meal suggestions for the week? I love that part of the website, and now it's gone! Any chance this feature will be returning to the new website?

Meal Plans à la Frenchy

I am looking forward to at least trying some of your recipes! I am on post-holiday Budwig détox at the moment, interrupted by a yoghurt shortage, dinner out, a spider bite, my piece of orange roughy being misappropriated... I will really be able to enjoy the flavors when I get through this. Lorraine

POSTED: Thu, 07/09/2009 - 6:04pm

Merci Beaucoup

Deborah, those lunch menus look amazing! Can't wait to try! Should people comment on this thread to avoid dissecting the menu thread? Thanks again! Lorraine

POSTED: Thu, 07/09/2009 - 6:25pm

Yes please!

I was hoping we could do that so as not to disrupt the flow of the menu plan. I will do a separate thread for the dinner. I am so glad someone has seen them! This is really quite thrilling for me.

POSTED: Fri, 07/10/2009 - 1:56am

Those are just great.Perfect to take to work for lunch or supper.Fine job! Jean

POSTED: Fri, 07/10/2009 - 5:30am

Thank you

Merci Jean. I would also like you to know that you can vary the bread. If you like wraps by all means use wraps. They also work well in Romaine leaves rolled or folded. More to come later today and a few dinner ideas.

POSTED: Fri, 07/10/2009 - 10:48am

You are welcome

Waiting for the next installment. The idea of Romaine leaves has caught my imagination. Will do that.Jean

You can also stuff the tomato with the tuna mixture. I will have the next group in about 2-3 hours. Dinner thread will also be coming at that time. The tofu and bok choy is a fave!

POSTED: Fri, 07/10/2009 - 7:20pm

Bon soir everyone

Good evening everyone. First let me apologize for missing an ingresient in the spaghetti sauce and that is the basil. You may use fresh at the end of the cooking process prior to serving or dried at the beginning of the cooking process. I don't know what I was thinking in forgetting this crucial ingredient. And the chicken parmesean that I had for dinner tonight was vegetarian...another Quorn product. I hope you can get these where you are.

POSTED: Fri, 07/10/2009 - 7:40pm

On the old website, there was a recommended weekly meal plan for each day- breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It was great because you could either eat exactly what was planned for the day, or tweek it to your liking. Very convenient feature!

POSTED: Sat, 05/29/2010 - 11:54pm

Miss the Menus, too!

I too, miss the weekly meal plans...they were very helpful...and sometimes just what I needed to "inspire" me to eat well. Please bring them back!!!

POSTED: Sun, 05/30/2010 - 8:06am

I am so sorry

for not being able to keep up with regular menus. While working as a teacher, during the school year it is hard for me to get them mapped out. Summer is fast approaching (3 and 1/2 days left) I promise I will have more menus for everyone. Please forgive the delay. I would like to have it set up where breakfast lunch and dinner are all there for each day. These will be "working people" friendly. I just look at some menu plans and shudder. They seem to be made for people who have no job and a personal chef. Sunday will be the exception as I love Sunday dinner ala family. I will post a new thread under the Recipes section titled Menu.

POSTED: Sun, 05/30/2010 - 3:53pm

So glad you will be back on the menu track this summer. I don't know how you manage to fit everything in with your busy life. How will you fit in studying next year? Enjoy your summer break and RELAX!!

POSTED: Tue, 06/02/2009 - 4:46pm

I wonder...

I wonder if we could come up with something similar under the recipe section.

POSTED: Wed, 06/03/2009 - 6:12am

I have a ton of meal plans. I also have meal plans for the vegetarian as I used to be veg. Will explain that one later.

POSTED: Sun, 07/05/2009 - 9:32am

I had no idea anyone else was on now. Wonderful to hear from you. Give me a day or two and I will begin a new thread called Le Menu. It will have meal plans and I'll have to dig for the recipe you are looking for. The thread will be placed in the "Recipes" column. Have a wonderful Sunday. What are your plans for today? I have to take some clothes back to a shop and get different sizes. I profane of dressing rooms. Much prefer to try on at home with appropriate shoes, shirts...I have a ton of tofu recipes.

The Crack of Dawn Gang

That would be us.LOLMy MacKie had me out early. Thanks for this.I will look forward to it.What a smart idea to try clothes on at home....I,too,!@#$%^&^** dressing rooms.Today,it is laundry, and then work(sob) at 3:15 -11:15.It is a very unpleasant place to be at the moment.People are extremely ill and that means a lot of screaming, threats and some physical aggression. But we will work as a team and folks will get better and become the lovely people they really are.Jean

POSTED: Sun, 07/05/2009 - 1:26pm

It's the crack of dawn here,

in the Sandwich Isles, but Marilyn assures me it is dusk where she is, lol. The Hawaiian poodle and I have become early-rising pals ;^). As soon as I'm over the jet-lag, it'll be time to go home. Lorraine

Is it somewhere you can play adagios? The music has a calming affect and may help with the screaming and physical threats. I play this music in my classroom. The concentration and calm is amazing.

POSTED: Sun, 07/05/2009 - 1:09pm

Wonderful, blissfull music.Unfortunately,we have no way to play it for our patients. But I'll put some on my iPod and listen on break. If I am calm and centered I am better able to help them calm.Thanks.Jean

POSTED: Sun, 07/05/2009 - 11:53am

Having a restful afternoon. Went for two hour walk this morning with a friend, we had a quick coffee afterwards and the a leisurely lunch on my own as OH playing golf. Bliss!!! Must admit to TV for short while to watch Tour de France mainly for the french countryside. Hope your days are better than you may think. Interested in Le Plan, luch and dinner for me too please. Take care. Marilyn

Trust your day has been a pleasure and relaxing.I'd be looking at the Tour for the thighs;).Jean

POSTED: Mon, 06/01/2009 - 8:56pm

Hi, bananie67!

Yes, those meal plans from the original website are no more. They were fun, and some of us really made good use of them. Still, there are the recipes on this new website. Lorraine

POSTED: Sat, 07/04/2009 - 11:18pm

I would love to see the meal

I would love to see the meal plans if anyone still has them...a little more guidance is always helpful when you're just starting out. A list of shopping staples (especially a quick one page printout) that you could take to the market would be great too.

POSTED: Sun, 07/05/2009 - 10:04am

It will

take me a bit of time but I can do this and have it up and running. I can do a showcase meal with the ingredient list and shopping guide. I will need catagory know chicken, fish, ....etc. Bear in mind, ingredients will be fresh unless otherwise specified and I will try to keep steps to a minimum and very few "gadgets" involved. All you will need are a couple of good pans and a knife or two.

POSTED: Sun, 07/05/2009 - 9:16am

Check out "Food and Wine"above might be helpful.Jean

POSTED: Sun, 07/05/2009 - 9:13am

Hi and welcome

Hope you enjoy this lifestyle as much as we do.It is great to have you join us.I miss the meal plans too,but have nothing saved from the old site.Seasonality is a watch word and basing a shopping list on that is helpful.Let us know how you fare.Jean

POSTED: Sun, 05/31/2009 - 6:40pm

Meal Plans?

Would you explain further?

POSTED: Mon, 06/01/2009 - 7:54pm

Meal plans

I love to do meal plans and especially when using in season produce. Pick a piece of produce and create the meal around it. I have a fab dinner menu using salmon, corn, and fresh green beans. It works great when the salmon is bar-b-qued. Rather than doing a cookbook with just recipes I'd love to write one that has the different menu ideas to go with and base it on seasonal foods. I know there are some already out there but one more wouldn't hurt would it? UGH! have to go...storms coming up fast and hard...gotta love hurricane season!

POSTED: Mon, 06/01/2009 - 11:49pm

batten down the hatches

Hurricaines are exciting and terrifying.Yes a cookbook as you suggest would be super.Jean P.S. Stay safe. One of my sisters lives in Miami and has been through some seriously nasty ones.
