Great to find this website again!!

Hi Everyone- I used to be a member of FWDGF and was able to get a lot out of the program, though quite sporadically. I really missed it when the sit went away. I am going through a very rough time both personally and professionally and my eating and relationship to food and my body seems to be a window in to all of this turmoil.. That said, I am feeling dumpy, fat and exhausted and completely out of touch with my body and the French lifestyle. I am really looking forward to participating on these forums and getting back into the program. I just turned 40 and feel the need and desire for some changes in my lifestyle. I am not one to normally participate in internet forums, but I feel that FWDGF is very different, in that the members are so supportive and friendly (it feels much more personal). I love to read about people's daily pleasures, because the truth is that that is what life is all about. I am feeling so out of touch with that which makes me happy that I am going to start thinking about what might. In the next couple of days I am going to start the "Leek Weekend". I am very familiar with my offenders, so think that I will just make a list of them rather that redoing the journaling for three weeks. (I have done this a number of times in the past). Great to be back! Hi to everyone! Holly

I'm back too!!

Hello ladies, I did great by myself for along time......untill I was on holidays in the USA last month. Gained 5 pounds in two weeks,really!!!So here I'm back and trying to get back on track! I spoiled myself with new walkingshoes, the special ones to train your body. I don't know if it's really working but they looked so cute, chocolate brown/old gold and white, and they walk very nice, so I love them anyway!!!

Everything???

Well, after I felt good about myself and find nice balance in my life I go back to crafting: knitting, embroidery, making ATC's and postcards and I finally started an "art"diary......just some drawing and collaging....but I wanted to do that for a long time, just felt I wasn't "artistic/good" enough! Before my divorce, over ten years ago, I loved to craft but raising my family and working full-time took all of my time and my supplies were stored on the attic....But thinking as a french woman now, I start looking for what makes me happy and crafting is one of those things I really enjoy and now I make time in my week to craft! I choose to spend less time on the computer or watching TV....but right now I really need to recast again, I don't know why, but after 2 weeks eating with my friends in the USA, even with eating nearly about half my plate each time, I feel like eating all the time now I'm back......??? Starting over this weekend! With soup and some nice long walks on my new shoes (-;

Well maybe not..

EVERYTHING.LOL.How wonderful that you are going back to pleasures.And the Art Diary is a great idea.Well done.

Do you think your wanting to eat all the time has to do with how food is engineered here?Today,I ate what appeared a relatively healthy sandwich from a fast food place (It opened in the hospital,Horrors)And within 2 hours I wanted more food.Just rediculous.

Food....

overthere to me the first couple of days is too sweet,too fat and too salty .......but after the first week I get used to it and start eating more and moreand faster too! My frieds don't eat much veggies and fruit only in pies, they go out to eat everyday, don't like homecooking much. I think to me the pleasure of cooking itself makes me eat less. My time in the kitchen after a workday is a time to re-think my day and relax before I have dinner with the 3 kids ( age 22-18-16)still at home. I use less salt and just some little real butter or good oil and when I bake I always use less sugar the recipe asks for....taste better to me,too much sugar makes other flavours dissapear. My kids love USA recipes but I make them "French way" (-;

Food.....

You are so right about the food here.Have you seen the movie Supersize me?It explains a lot about why and what we eat here.It is sickening.Cooking dinner here for many people is an arduous task at the end of a long, tiring day.I used to be included in that.We certainly have it skewed.
