I tried making mimosa today but didn't have a food mill. I used an immersion blender but wasn't sure if I should have strained the soup or just had it like it was. I don't really want another piece of kitchen equipment. Any opinion?
A lot would depend on the texture you were looking for. While a food mill, as Frenchy says, would give you a silkier texture, using an immersion blender would give a slightly chunkier texture, perhaps a little more rustic in character, as well as leaving all that lovely roughage in the soup, which would make it a little more satisfying both in the mouth and in the stomach.

Greetings
It depends on what you want to do. There are certain things that require a food mill such as milling potatoes prior to mashing for the extra silkiness it provides but this you wouldn't do with an immersion blender. Without knowing exactly what you made it is difficult to advise. I hope this was some help to you. Deborah

Soup
Welcome to the forum.
When I make any kind of soup that needs blending I use either a hand blender of if making larger quantities I use the food processor. Just alter the time you whizz it to adjust the smoothness of the soup. Hope this helps.
