Books
I have enjoyed the Karen Wheeler books called Tout Sweet and Tout Allure. Which gives an interesting view on ex-pat life in France. They are very interesting, humorous and I was gripped. I am really looking forward to the next installment which is due any day soon.Vintage1944

Hi Anni~
One new book which really sheds some light on the difference between the French woman and the American woman is Debra Ollivier's new book: "What French Women Know". It's wonderful, except I did feel a bit the author was dissing all things American, as if she was feeling American's are inferior, and the French woman does ALL things better, which I do not feel is true at all! Not in the least. You've got to take her point of view with a grain of salt. It's a fun read still. I highly recommend "Foreign Tongue" by Vanina Marsot. Her first novel and she's a magnificent author.anni

Calling all history lovers
I have quite a few wonderful titles of French History for anyone that has an interest. Seven Ages of Paris, Wine & War, Reflections on the French Revolution, The Coming of the French Revolution, Paris: The Secret History, The French Revlolution A History, Champagne, La Belle France: A Short History, The Story of French. I think I have a few more but cannot seem to lay my hands on them for some reason. Enjoy! Oh, if anyone has any other historical/non-fiction titles on France I would love to have them...Almost forgot...Sixty Million Frenchmen Can't Be Wrong. It was and is the most intelligent read of all time for me. DeborahVintage1944

Thank you everyone
I will let you know when the biopsy is. The hospital has to call to set the appointment. The orders were faxed from the doctor's office this afternoon so I'm thinking by the end of this week or next week. My husband, at 61 years of age has decided to take guitar lessons. He is already a classical guitarist but has never had a lesson. He will drive to Lakeland on Saturday for his first lesson and will leave the house at 8.30 am. I am going to spend the time pampering myself in total and complete silence...or with soft music. I'm thinking a much needed manicure/pedicure, a body scrub and moisture session, and to top it all off a deep conditioning for the hair. All with mamosas, a croissant and some fresh fruit. For lunch...I'll get back to you on that one. Bliss! I appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers. We will get through this together...allow me to take the poking for you! I know...sick humour...annii50

biopsy
hello ladies! I am new here and am just loving reading about all of our similar interests. I just love it! Not one of my friends understands my interest or cares to. But, as I have been reading here, I see where you had a biopsy and I scrolled around attempting to find the rest of your story with that and I can't find it. My heart went out to you, been through thess kinds of things myself. If it isn't too hard for you and you feel like talking about it,please let me know what is going on, I know this happened over a year ago, but sometimes these things do drag on. Good thoughts going out to you AnniiViva la Diva

Be Well, Be Well, Be Well.... You have all my healing energy and hope. Pampering yourself is a great plan, do you get angry? Not a great place to stay, but someimes neccesary to heal. Journaling or art can be a good outlet. Whatever you need, do it. No matter what it is all ok right here, right now. Please lean on us...I'm thinking Lavender Oil for you. Can you get Essential Oils to inhale?Vintage1944

I played the lottery today. It is the first time in 20 or more years but the pot is at 57 million dollars and I just had a feeling. Who knows...if I don't win anything I'll probably never play again BUT! Stranger thins have happened!Marilyn

What would Audrey do?
A little off the track of strict French guides, but What Would Audrey Do? by Pamela Keogh is both an homage to Audrey Hepburn, that most elegant and lovely person, and a little 'tongue in chic' guide living life the Audrey way... which is quite French. While the book could do with tighter editing (it is a little repetitive in parts) it was an enjoyable read and you do feel more French, slimmer and beautiful when you've finished reading it ;-).
cheers, Fergie
