Bombshell Weekend?
Would it be crazy to have a Bombshell Weekend this weekend? I know it's close to the holidays, but wouldn't it be good to take a few minutes and focus totally on pampering, relaxing and nurturing? I don't have my Christmas shopping done or any cookies baked yet... but I'm thinking that taking the time to be a bombshell would be a great present to me. Who's in?

Amazing Pedicure
Wow what a difference a good pedicure makes.Plus it is a nice spa and everything is organic. My brows and lashes look super.I am pleased.Furthermore, the woman who owns it and does the treatments is a Nurse. She worked at my hospital. She is a total trip.Really funny and smart and a great aesthetician.I will certainly go back.OXOsnorklee

Hi Jean,
My weekend is going okay for a "work" weekend. lol. I'm trying to get in some daily movement before going in. It really helps my mood and my energy level. Your weekend sounds divine. I never heard of eyelash and brow dyeing. I must investigate. I've got blonde (and now some gray) brows and lashes, and usually never leave the house without mascara and brow pencil. Otherwise my eyes are invisible. :)Vintage1944

Hi There
With your sensitivities try to find a salon/spa the uses organic products for brows and lashes. My brows disappeared when I went grey.I always use mascara and brow pencil. This is a nice change ;not to have to mess with mascara at 6a.m.As for work I was supposed to work this evening but I decided not to as I hoped my sis would be home today. It will be tomorrow.I am liking being mellow and not pushing myself.Don't you work too hard.OXOMarilyn

Good for you
Good for you Jean. It is time you put yourself first for a change. Are you any nearer being able to cut down your hours or retire completely? Here's hoping your sister is home today. I do so hope 2012 is a better year for both of you.Vintage1944

Dear Friend
You are a dear friend...well I always get caught up at work...and will be working full time until I sail away on the cruise. Is that what you mean by retirement/cutting back?LOL.The powers that be have seen fit to move our Manager,Clinical Instructor and one Nurse to our other campus. To sort out the mess on the Psych.Unit there. They say it is temporary. The problem has been there for years and left to fester by the same geniuses who made this decision. It leaves us with a large staffing deficit. Now it is all shoulders to the wheel. My Job Share partner and I will both be doing a full time schedule until then. He's off to Southeast Asia for a month or so and will need to make up for no pay for that time.he is a world traveller extrodinaire.I am looking forward to a better year, but the cards say otherwise, possibly. But I can and will take better care of myself. Thanks for your support.OXO.P.S.The extra cash I make will go in to the Big 70 Birthday Celebration in England fund.

Bombshell Weekend continues...
Since today is a holiday (MLK Day), my weekend continues thru today. I just finished re-reading Audrey Hepburn - An Elegant Spirit, and plan to watch Roman Holiday today, maybe another Audrey film after that (I have quite a collection!). Lemon juice facial - must go rinse it off! I think I am actually going to attempt to make croissants, so step one today, as well as more yogurt (or as we call it at our house - goat-gurt, because I make it with goat milk, and the rest of my family won't touch it! LOL) I got a mani/pedi on Friday, noshed on sushi with Chandon Brut (sparkling white wine from Napa that is much more cost-effective than Veuve Cliquot and we have great memories from our two trips to the vineyard), and I am planning an olive oil overnight hair treatment tonight! Fond Farewell to Bombshell Weeked
It was a very relaxing weekend. Deb ...glad to hear you are having a great bombshell weekend. I love the award shows there are a lot of tv shows I don't get a chance to watch so I will order from the library and then I can watch at my leisure. Sunday's date was very nice...nice guy...we went to Dominicks (small family owned business...I'm trying to stay away from chain restaurants). My date travels for his job and is stationed here in the Cuse for the next 2-3 years. He focused on me and made me feel special... Don't give up on the dating scene Deb...sometimes I think I will never meet the right guy at this stage of my life..so I try to look at each new date as a man who can teach me something about myself and what I'm looking for and each date as anadventure. xo MJVintage1944

Hello to my Bombshell weekend
A week behind all of you.Nevertheless, pampering is needed.Yesterday,I had low lights put in my hair and they are gorgeous.I was feeling old and drained and this has helped.I still look as if my hair is grey, but not so much white around my face.Today,a Spa Pedicure and having my brows and eyelashes coloured.Last night,I attended a Pops Concert of James Bond and other theme music. It was fun.OXOMarilyn

Dear Jean
Be kind to yourself. We are in a stressful line of work, but I know that you do your job with grace and kindness. There are days when a polite glass of wine goes a long way towards de-stressing. :)Vintage1944

Dear Deb
Yes i am being kind to myself.Having my first coffee with all of you, this morning.Yes our profession is stressful. I wish I could share what has been going on.It has been a difficult, painful, rewarding learning experience. It has taken me places within myself I had not sought to go.It has challenged my values and principles And I am grateful. And I have not found myself wanting.A victory,I guess.OXOElizabeth G

Less than I planned, but enough to feel like a treat
My son has a birthday this week and asked if we could have the family dinner today. He is vegan, so yesterday was filled with choosing recipes and shopping for ingredients. I did manage luxurious skin treatment yesterday, and a nap (the best treat of all!). After a long, meditative walk this morning, I took a bubble bath this morning and added a couple of drops of Vitamin E oil to my face lotion - my skin feels like a baby's! I used a yummy almond scented body lotion, and am wearing cashmere socks and decadent lingerie under my "mom is cooking" clothes!coco1960

Sunday Morning.....Deb & Jean
Up early...olive oil mask on the hair..drinking a big glass of lemon water and listening to a Relaxation Cd of music by Bach...shortly a face mask of egg yolk and olive oil and breakfast with a dear friend ( he is an ex boyfriend who is fighting some serious medical isssues) and then a Sunday supper with another date. Sat's date was fun but he does have a roving eye and would not be steady beau material. But the date later today.... Deb I live in Syracuse, NY (Central NY)...Jean are you getting your eyelashes dyed or are you having extensions put on ? Off to watch Sabrina since breakfast isn't till later....xo Mjsnorklee

Hi MJ
Sounds like you're bombshelling like a French woman. :) Yesterday, I had a first date with a man who seems like a possibility. I haven't had a lot of hope lately on the dating scene, so it was a nice surprise to sit and talk with an interesting, and not at all bad looking gentleman. I hope your date is fun tonight. Where are you going? I know you will be tres chic and soignee. :)On the bombshell front. I have been using the lemon on my face for a week now, and my skin looks amazing! The discolorations are fading, my pores are tighter, and my skin is smoother than it has been in years. The mental lift it has given me is priceless. I thought that since I was aging that there was nothing I could do to stop the ravages of time. The lemon is nothing short of a miracle for me. Yesterday my younger sister came over for coffee, and she was complaining that her skin felt leathery and she was feeling old. She's only 49, a mere baby compared to me. :) I told her about the lemon, and she said that she had noticed my skin and was wondering what I had been doing. I made her get up immediately and try the lemon on her face. She did and was instantly amazed. I sent her home with a lemon in her pocket, and I know she is now a convert. lol.
This afternoon, I will go downtown and browse the little shops with my sister and a friend, and we will lunch like ladies. It's a beautiful sunny day, even if it is only 6 degrees! Have a happy day! Deb
Marilyn

Sunday
As I was not feeling well yesterday I saved my Bombshell till this morning. A leisurely shower with a rehydrating face mask, exfoliation all over, a special hair condition and slathered on the body lotion. A lazy afternoon now after making gingerbread people for favours for DD's wedding. This coming Friday it's the haircut with a trial of my fascinator, my dress alterations should be done and the last week count down will begin. Exciting times.coco1960
